FAQs
Why must my dog and I attend an initial consultation before participating in a class?
For health and safety reasons, a certified Personal Trainer needs to test your level of physical fitness and make sure you are healthy enough to attend the class. Our professional dog behavior expert must screen your dog to make sure your companion is healthy and physically able to attend the class, and does not pose a threat to other class participants. The initial consultation also gives you an insight into what to expect from our exercise class. You will have an opportunity to ask our professionals any questions you may have. You and your dog will receive a thorough and informative evaluation.
What is the fee for my initial consultation?
Your initial consultation costs only $15 (without a dog) or $29 (with a dog), and if you choose to sign up with us, this fee will go toward the cost of your package.
Must I sign up for the class at my initial consultation?
No. You are under no obligation to sign up at any time. If you choose, you can sign up there and then, but if you need time think about your decision, that’s fine too! Just call us when you’re ready. If you decide the class is not for you (or your dog), you will at least have received a thorough and informative evaluation, and we’ll respect your decision – no questions asked!
How long will my initial consultation take?
We allocate 45 minutes in total to thoroughly evaluate you and your dog. If you do not have a dog, we allocate 30 minutes.
How and when can I pay for the class?
All bookings must be paid in full, and in advance of commencing the course or participating in a class. We accept all major credit cards, check or cash. Payment can be made at your initial consultation, or if you’d like to go away and think about it, you can make payment by phone with your credit card, or send us a check or cash payment.
What do I need to bring to my initial consultation?
Please wear comfortable work-out clothes and sneakers. If you have a dog, please make sure he or she is on a leash. We will need to see proof of your dog’s current DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccinations. If your dog does not have a Bordetella vaccination, we offer this at your initial consultation.
Once I have signed up, when will I attend my first class?
Your start date will be confirmed when you sign up, and will be on a day of your convenience. If we are in your chosen location more than once a day, you will have the choice between attending a morning or evening class. If you have booked flexible lessons, you may attend the classes as and when you wish according to how many classes purchased. Click here to check out our prices, schedule and locations.
What do I do when I’ve finished the course/sessions?
Sign up for more! If you sign up for your second full four-week course, you will receive a discount!
Why must I show proof of my dog’s vaccinations?
This is for health and safety reasons and ensures a sanitary environment for all dogs and owners alike.
Why does my dog need to be on a leash for the class?
State law requires that all dogs need to be kept on a leash at all times in public places. It keeps the class organized and controlled and it also keeps you close to your dog at all times, therefore helping to strengthen the bond between you and your companion.
My dog has been known to get aggressive. Does this mean we cannot attend the fitness class?
Not necessarily. All dogs are screened by a trained professional at your initial consultation. They will decide if your dog is a potential danger to others. If our professional concludes that a dog may present a danger to others, your pet will be denied the right to participate in our classes for safety reasons.
What if I am late for a class?
All classes start promptly at the times stated. If you are late you may still join in and complete the duration of the class, but you will forfeit what you have missed without compensation.
Do you have a refund policy?
We do not offer monetary refunds and this is non-negotiable. If you are unable to attend a class due to business travel, vacation, or illness, we will be happy to credit that time toward your next lesson. However, you must TELEPHONE us at least 12 hours in advance to inform us of your circumstances. If we don’t answer, please be sure to leave a message.
